Initial Certification Grant Opportunity for Osteopathic Family Medicine Residents

 
 

About This Grant Opportunity:

The Maine Osteopathic Association, The Maine Chapter of the Academy of Osteopathic Family Physicians & the Maine Osteopathic Educational Foundation have partnered to assist in easing the financial burden for medical residents seeking to certify in AOBFP & become part of the community of osteopathic family physicians in Maine.

MOA/ME ACOFP/MOEF will award grants reimbursing certification expenses to third-year residents in osteopathically recognized programs who are planning to sit for the AOBFP written exam (cognitive) and the OMT Performance Exam (practical). Grants of $1,400 are expected, but will constitute reimbursement of expenses for certification fees and travel following appropriate documentation of expenses.

Grant Requirements:

  • Take both AOBFP initial written and practical exam (Early Entry or Standard Pathways are acceptable)

  • Submit proof of payment of certification fees and travel expense report form

  • Do not receive financial support from your residency program sufficient to cover the cost of the AOBFP exam and travel

  • Submit completed W9 Form

  • Express an Intent to Practice Family Medicine in Maine
